About Drake

I’ve been passionate about technology for over three decades, starting when dial-up was cutting edge. From the early days of home computing to today’s smart devices, my career has covered it all. With a background in system administration and networking, I have years of hands-on experience keeping systems running smoothly for homes and small businesses.

Beyond technical skill, trust is essential. My 30-year federal career required the highest security clearance, entrusting me with highly confidential information. I bring that same professional commitment of security and privacy to your home or office.

But more than just fixing technology, I enjoy helping people feel comfortable with it. I know tech can be frustrating, so I focus on providing clear, calm, and approachable support. Whether you're new to computers or just tired of things not working, I'm here with the patience and know-how to help.

Home Installs & Upgrades

At Tech With Drake, I understand that buying or upgrading a computer can be a daunting task. With my decades of computer experience and enthusiasm for technology, I'm here to guide you through every step of the process, including:

• Buying a new computer
• Installing and upgrading hardware
• Installing and upgrading software
• Upgrading operating system
• Connecting new devices
• Transfering data and software

When it’s time for a new computer, choosing the right one can make all the difference. I regularly help people find and set up the best PC or Mac for their needs, with the goal always to recommend options that offer the right balance of performance, reliability, and value.

I also assist with installing software, setting up printers and other peripherals, and making sure everything works together seamlessly. If you’re moving to a new computer, I can help with data transfers and software reinstalls. For home offices, I set up monitors, docking stations, webcams, and other essential gear.

Upgrading hardware doesn’t have to be overwhelming. I’ve installed everything from memory and SSDs to new graphics cards and Wi-Fi adapters, always with a focus on maximizing performance and extending the useful life of your system. Many times, a simple upgrade—like adding more RAM or replacing an old hard drive with a solid-state drive—can make a computer feel brand new again, speeding up startup times and making everyday tasks smoother.

No matter what you’re installing or upgrading, I’ll walk you through the options, explain what to expect, and handle the technical details so you don’t have to worry. My goal is to make the process smooth and straightforward, ensuring your devices are ready to meet your needs.
