Marin County Community
As a longtime resident of Marin County, I feel a strong connection to the people and neighborhoods that make this area unique. Our community thrives when we look out for each other, and I believe that volunteering and supporting local causes are essential to building a stronger, more connected Marin.
Giving back is more than a responsibility—it’s a way to invest in the well-being of our neighbors and to help everyone feel included and supported. By sharing our skills and lending a hand, we can make a real difference in people’s lives and help Marin remain a welcoming, vibrant place for all.
Marin Villages volunteer website
Supporting Marin Villages is something I care deeply about. Marin Villages is a local nonprofit that helps older adults stay independent, engaged, and confident in their own homes. As a volunteer, I work directly with seniors across Marin County, offering friendly, patient assistance with their technology—everything from setting up a new tablet or smartphone to troubleshooting Wi-Fi, managing online accounts, or learning how to use video calls to connect with family.
For many seniors, technology can be intimidating or frustrating, and it often becomes a barrier to maintaining social connections and independence. I believe everyone deserves access to the benefits that technology can bring, no matter their age or comfort level. By providing hands-on tech support and personalized guidance, I help Marin Villages members feel more confident and empowered, making sure they can safely navigate the digital world and stay connected with their community.
Youth Experience Sponsorship (YES) website
I’m also proud to support Youth Experience Sponsorship (YES), a local nonprofit dedicated to providing under-resourced youth in Marin County with meaningful opportunities for growth and success. YES offers life-enriching experiences, mentoring, and access to resources that can make a real difference in a young person’s life.
My involvement with YES centers around bridging the digital divide. I offer technical support and training to YES participants, helping them develop essential digital skills for school, work, and daily life. Whether it’s setting up a laptop for remote learning, teaching safe internet practices, or troubleshooting devices, my goal is to ensure that every young person YES serves has the confidence and know-how to thrive in a technology-driven world. Supporting YES means investing in the future of Marin County—giving local youth the tools they need to build brighter, more connected futures.
My local business; Tech with Drake
Starting my business in Marin County was a natural choice because of my love for this area and its people. After spending 30 years managing computer systems nationwide for the Department of Veterans Affairs, I felt proud of my work serving veterans, but also realized I was missing a sense of connection to my own community.
Launching Tech with Drake has given me the opportunity to bring my experience home, working face-to-face with local residents and small businesses instead of being a voice on the phone or behind a screen. I take pride in being able to help neighbors and local organizations directly, making technology easier and more approachable for everyone in Marin. Supporting this community—both through my business and as a volunteer—is truly what motivates me every day.
